During my time at Dreaming the Impossible, I was given the Live Lounge venue to look after, with all sorts of differing events during the week.
We began the week with "Pop 'Till You Drop", an evening of cheesy pop.
We also had Open Mic nights, DJ Shunz and, my personal highlight, the Bandeoke. A pleasure to mix and light up such a talented band on a system as nice as the one provided: d&b Y series and CCL Subs, with various lights provided by White Light
Through mixing bands on the road, I've learned how to quickly manage a soundcheck and make a band sound good even with loud acoustic drums, guitar amps at full blast and monitors.
To the side, my personal WING Compact on show in Windsor mixing Stated Cover Band.
Before buying the WING, I, like many others, owned an X32, particularly the compact variant. While limited in processing, this gave me a great understanding of how to mix on the fly within those limits that just a bit of EQ and compression can do. While I look back on those days and wonder how I did it, it certaintly was an instructive period of time.
Stated band again, this time in Reading
